Today we had a meeting with the Headmaster and representative teachers of Mzomtsha Public Primary School which borders the Centre and with whom we already have a working relationship. As part of our desire to reach further into the community around the Centre, we are looking to set up definitive partnerships with the surrounding schools and Mzomtsha is an obvious first choice for us.

The aim of the meeting was to begin laying down a framework wherein volunteers from outside the community can offer their assistance to the teachers in meeting some of the needs of the learners (ie: remedial assistance), or assist with creative lessons and sport in the afternoons, etc.

We hope too that eventually groups of people (particularly those from this country who have been fortunate enough to get decent educations in well equipped schools) will contribute towards the physical needs of these schools and personally do something to put right some of the injustice our past has handed to us.

The meeting was a good one and is hopefully the beginning of a new chapter that will see great benefit unfold for the children who need it most.
